Leadership

Reverend Gayle Heffley

Pastor Gayle is the wife of Daren, mother of Tom, Nicole, and D.J., and grandmother to Hailey, Haden, and Daren. She is an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene and has faithfully served as a preacher, shepherd, and evangelist for more than 28 years. Her ministry centers on the message of holiness of heart and life, rooted in the transforming love and grace of God.

Pastor Gayle’s life verse, Romans 8:28, declares: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” This promise reflects her personal testimony. Emancipated at age 15 and a survivor of domestic violence, Pastor Gayle shares from lived experience that God truly brings beauty from ashes.

Her passion is to help people understand that they are not alone and that life offers far more than what the world can give. She proclaims the hope of Christ — that God graciously heals wounded hearts, restores purpose, and redeems every season of life as individuals surrender their past, present, and future to Him. Through authentic community in the family of faith, she encourages others to grow in loving God, loving people, and living hope.

Celebrate Recovery Co-Leader | Men’s Ministry Leader

Daren Heffley

Daren was introduced to alcohol and drugs in his early teens. By his mid-twenties, his life was unmanageable. Faced with the choice of jail or rehab, he chose sobriety in 1990 and hasn’t looked back. Instead, he gives back by helping others become and remain clean and sober. Daren’s search for a higher power led to the Highest Power and an ever-deepening relationship as a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. Knowing the many struggles, temptations, and worldly influences that are barriers to an intimate relationship with God and others, Daren directs our men’s ministry and co-leads Celebrate Recovery with Pastor Gayle.

Kayla Watkins

Kayla directs our Worship/Music Ministries. She is the youngest of three children —two older brothers —who all grew up surrounded by a legacy of music and worship. She has her bachelor’s degree in nutrition. Her passion shines when she helps others learn about God, push their bodies to new limits in fitness and Nutrition, and play music. Kayla’s first instrument other than vocals was the trumpet in middle school band, and then she moved on to play bass guitar in her family’s worship team. She later learned acoustic guitar.

Kayla first asked Jesus to be the Lord of her life while listening to The Donut Man cassette tape at seven years old. Her life has never been the same since. “Jesus stood for the lost, forgotten, and the lonely. Let’s stand together and do the same.”
